A 360⁰ Perspective on Solar Sustainability

European Solar Sustainability Award 2025

Welcome to the European Solar Sustainability Award 2025, where sustainability meets the solar-driven energy transition!

SolarPower Europe, the association representing the European solar sector, is proud to celebrate the top sustainability performers in the field of solar power for their efforts to maximise positive impacts on products, projects, communities, the climate, and the environment in Europe.

The European Solar Sustainability Award is an annualcompetition that shines a spotlight on companies and organisations using or advancing solar power to reduce their own and/or the technology’s environmental footprint – ultimately driving greater sustainability for solar power.

By showcasing and sharing the best solar sustainability practices in Europe, SolarPower Europe aims to further establish solar as the pillar of the energy transition and the leading sustainable energy source.

Previous European Solar Sustainability Award Winners were:

2022 Enel Green Power

2023 Iberdrola

2024 Solar Materials

Competition

Entries for the European Solar Sustainability Award 2025 will be evaluated by a distinguished jury in two selection rounds. After an initial review, 10 shortlisted companies will be invited to pitch their projects to the jury during an online event. From these, the finalists will be chosen.

On 3 December 2025, the finalists will present their projects at the Sustainable Solar Europe Conference 2025. Participants of the conference will then vote for the winner, who will be officially announced during the event in Brussels.

Who Can Participate?

The European Solar Sustainability Award 2025 is open to companies and organisations that actively use solar power or work in the solar sector to reduce their own and/or the technology’s environmental footprint.

We are looking for solar project applications that:

  • Contribute to improved sustainability performance in Europe through solar technology, reducing environmental impacts while delivering economic and social benefits.
  • Demonstrate innovation and go beyond business-as-usual.
  • Show excellence in project execution and overcoming challenges.

This competition is open exclusively to projects implemented in Europe.
